Available in a variety of sizes to accommodate pets of different sizes, this replacement flap offers dimensions that are clearly marked on each flap for easy identification. The flap size is engraved into the flap right above the magnetic bar. You can also confirm the size of your flap by checking the number of holes at the top:
- Small (S): 3 holes, 5" w x 9" h
- Medium (M): 4 holes, 7 1⁄4" w x 13" h
- Extra Large (XL): 4 holes, 9 3⁄4" w x 17" h

Step 1 Unscrew the Flap Retainer Bar
- Use a screwdriver to remove the screws along the flap retainer bar.
Step 2 Remove the Flap
- Reach behind the flap and pull gently to detach the retainer bar and flap.
- Set the old flap to the side.
Step 3 Replace the Flap
- Place the new flap on the frame in the same position the old flap was in.
- Sandwich the flap between the frame and the retainer bar.
Step 4 Replace the Screws
- Replace the screws along the retainer bar and tighten.

How do I know this is the flap I need?Before ordering, check the logo or writing on your flap (if any). Ideal Pet Products will have their logo, name, and sometimes the model of the door in the center of opening or on the pet door frame at the bottom. If not you can double check if the size is embossed on the bottom near the magnet bar on either side. These replacement flaps will work for both the ruff weather wall kit and the ruff weather door mount (and the "protector" models). |
Are there any other flaps that are the same size I can use instead?The ruff weather dog door replacement parts are not interchangeable with other brands or models even with matching pet door sizes, so you will need to order the same kind of flap replacement or part replacement. |

Do I have to take out the entire door to replace the flap?No! You need only to unscrew the bar that holds the flap for the pet door wall kit or door kit. Your entire outer frame does not need to be removed. Once the bar is removed, you can then discard your old flap, and insert the new one. A screwdriver is the only tool you need. |
