Track Height − Fully Extended Panel Height + 2.125
Example Calculation:
- Track Height = 88"
- Panel Height Adjustment Range = 77.75" - 80.25"
- 88" − 80.25" + 2.125" = 9.875"

Please Note: If you order a tall height extension piece (10” or greater), the manufacturer recommends screwing the two pieces together and semi-permanently mounting them to the frame of your slider. This will involve drilling into panel's top flange, height extension (careful to avoid getting too close to the glass), and sliding track and securing it with screws that you will need to purchase. The maximum recommended height for the extension is 14", but it can be built up to 16".
Flap Size: Select the same flap size as the Ideal Fast Fit panel you already have or plan to order. Measure the flap and the full width of the panel to double-check you are ordering correctly.
Please Note: The Ideal Fast Fit patio panel pet door height extension will not fit any other patio pet door panel, so be sure to double-check that your door is an Ideal with the aluminum framing. Also, because it's a custom-built order, it is not returnable after purchase.

Step 1 Place the Panel in Your Track
- Place your Fast Fit Panel upright in your sliding door track.
Step 2 Test Fit the Height Extension
- Ensure the adjustment piece at the top of the panel is in its lowest setting.
- Slide the Height Adjustment Piece into the ‘U’ shaped flange at the top of the Fast Fit Panel.
- Gently release the thumbscrews and allow it to rise into the upper track.
Step 3 Attach the Height Extension
- You can join the two pieces together for a more secure union by purchasing two tamper-proof bolts and nuts at your local hardware store.
- Drill through the ‘U’ shaped flange of the Fast Fit Panel and lower frame of the height extension piece.
- Screw the two pieces together.
Step 4 Apply the Weatherstripping
