Installation Instructions

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Small-screw screwdriver (included with the MS-5 only)

 

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Lay the collar key facedown on a flat surface.

Step 2 (MS-5 only): Remove the small screw on the back plate, located on the corner of the strap square.

Step 3: Note the two insert indents on both of the longer edges. Use the screwdriver to separate the back plate from the main casing in those indents, and lift the back plate off.

Step 4: The old high tech pet collar battery should be resting inside the casing. Remove it, and place the new high tech battery for collar keys with the plus-side facing up where the old battery was.

Step 5: Place the back plate back on top with the screw holes matching up (MS-5 only). Press the plate back into the main casing.

Please Note: Make sure the plate snaps back into place, pushing it in all the way. The backing may fall off if it isn’t fully reattached.

FAQ

Are the batteries for collar keys just typical watch batteries?

No. This battery is for your dog door only and cannot be used for your dog collar key attachment. The ultrasonic collar is powered by either the High Tech Pet ms-4 or ms-5 collar batteries, which you can checkout battery replacements for here.

Is this a 270 mah lithium battery?

This replacement battery is a sealed lead-acid battery that charges up to 12 volts (1300 mah).

What power tools do I need to install this battery?

This battery should snap into place, meaning it is power and hand tools free. Additional information can be found in the Installation Instructions tab.

Will this battery work for the MS 2?

The high tech battery for collar keys MS 2 and MS 2A will not work with the MS 4 or MS 5 new collar keys.

How many batteries will I receive with this order?

You will receive two (2) batteries.

Warranty

High Tech Pet Products Warranty:

All of our products carry a full one year warranty (with the exception of replacement collar key batteries. If your product fails to operate at any time, for any reason, within one year of the original delivery date we will repair or replace it at our expense, no questions asked. If it doesn't work, send it back, get another one. It's that quick and easy.

Guidelines:

Your product must be returned to High Tech Pet Products and must be clean and free of pet hair, dust and dander. Items that are dirty or containing pet hair and requiring cleaning will be subject to a charge equal to 25% of the original purchase price. We will ship the repaired or replaced product back to you via FedEx Ground or USPS priority mail, at our expense however, you are responsible for the cost of shipping the defective product to us.

In no case will High Tech Pet Products arrange or pay for the shipping of the defective product from your location to ours. Should you request the product to be sent out via air service, we will be happy to accommodate your request however, you will be required to pay the entire cost of the expedited service. ALL products, including pet doors, must be returned to us before we send out a replacement unit.

We must receive and examine the defective unit before the repaired or replaced unit is shipped out to you. There are no exceptions to this policy. When returning a product for repair or replacement, you must allow at least 1 – 2 weeks for replacement plus shipping time each way. In some cases, especially for special order items, the replacement time may be longer.
