Step 1 Prep the Rough Cutout
- To determine the area that will be needed to accommodate the door, measure the dimensions of the extended section on the back of the unit. This section of the door will be fitted into the door or wall. Please note that an installation template is not included with the kennel dog door.
- For Door Installations: If possible, remove the door from its hinges using a screwdriver and hammer to tap out the hinge pins. Lay the door flap for installation.
Step 2 Drill the Holes
- Once you are certain the pet door will work with your door or wall, mark the outline of the required rough cutout with a pencil.
- Drill holes through the corners just inside of the lines using a ⅜” (9,5 mm) drill bit.
Step 3 Saw An Opening
- Using a jigsaw, cut along the marked lines, making sure to cut straight.
Step 4 Attach the Frames
- Use screws (not included) to attach the outside frame. The frame ensures a tight seal and secures the door to the wall. Don't forget to use a level.
