Please read instructions & notes thoroughly before installation.
Step 1 Test Fit the Panel
- Raise your sliding sash window frame to its fully open position and place the pet door assembly between the window sill and the open sash window frame.
Step 2 Adjust the Knobs
- Turn the silver knobs counter-clockwise to release the end spacers.
Step 3 Tighten the Panel
- Turn the silver knobs clockwise to tighten and lok the end spacers in position.
Step 4 Install the Foam Seal
- Measure the top of the installed aluminum sash window pet door. Unroll and cut foam bumper seal to this length.
- Peel off the protective backing and attach along the top edge of the pet door, pressing firmly as you go.
- Lower the sliding sash window frame until it touches onto the foam bumper seal.
Step 5 Install the Draft Seal
- Measure the top of the sliding sash window frame from the left edge of the latch to the outside edge of the top frame.
- Cut the vinyl draft seal to this measurement.
- Peel off the protective backing and attach along the top edge of the sliding sash window window frame, making sure the inside flexible edge touches the glass opposite the sliding sash window frame.
- Repeat this step for the right side.

Can I take it out if I need?Yep! They are meant to be able to take in and out easily without the use of any tools. |
How wide does my track have to be?We recommend that you have a track that is at least 1" in order for the Ideal cat window door to fit properly. |
If the sash is a little too wide what can I do?Ideal made the sash so that you can trim about 1" off either side just in case there was a small measuring error. |
If the sash isn't wide enough what can I do?There are channels in both sides of the spring loaded adjustment ranges. You can trim a piece of wood and slide it into the channel to act as an extension. |
What does "Custom" mean?This means that the option(s) you have chosen make the sash non-returnable so there will be no returns or refunds and it is a final sale. |
Does this only come in white?Yes, they no longer offer color choices. |

However, if you have a small dog, they may be able to fit through any cat doors for windows if it is in the largest size. Otherwise, we suggest buying a separate dog door for your dog. |
